Demco SBS with Wireless Coachlink Installation - 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System with Coachlink on our 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Your five main components are going to be your tow bar, which will connect your RV to your Jeep, your base plate, which is a physical connection that the tow bar connects to, your supplemental braking system, which helps the Jeep to come to a safe and slow stop behind the motorhome, your diode wiring kit, which is going to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motorhome to the back of your Jeep, and then finally, your safety cables. This is going to come into play in an unlikely disconnect. If the tow bar we inchesre to ever come disconnected from the Jeep, those safety cables are gonna kick in and keep the Jeep behind you so that you can get over to the side of the road and come to a safe and slow stop. Now, the way this kit is going to work is it's going to take an air signal from your coach and apply the brakes on the inside of your Jeep while you're flat towing it down the road. more

Now this is gonna be available in two different configurations and it really comes down to which way you want to indicate that the brakes are being applied. Today we have our wireless CoachLink, which is really nice. It allows you to see that on the dash of the vehicle, but it's also available in a three LED light up configuration as well. Now there's five main components required when flat towing your Wrangler and starting on the vehicle side we have our base plate and that attaches to the frame of the vehicle creating a structural mounting point for your tow bar and all the rest of your components. And essentially what that is, is it's designed to fit your vehicle if you're in one of three situations, if you decide to get a different braking system and the rest of your car is already set up to flat tow all you have to do is just get this kit. And another situation would be is if you get a different motorhome and it doesn't have the system on it to control your vehicle via air. If you have a say, a Stay-IN-Play DUO or a portable system and you want to use the air from your motorhome to be able to control the brakes on your vehicle then you can switch over to this kit also. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now there's five main components required when flat towing a vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side it's gonna be your base plate and the base plate is going to attach to the structural frame or at least bumper supports of a vehicle, creating a solid mounting point. It's also gonna create other mounting points for your other components, including your tow bar. So your tow bar's gonna attach to the arms and that's gonna be the connection point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we also have our safety chains and that's going to make sure in case of a disconnect we still have the cables attached to the vehicle. more

There's five main components when flat towing a vehicle and starting on the vehicle side you're gonna have the base plate and that's gonna attach to the frame or the structural support of the vehicle allowing an attachment point not only for our towbar but for all the rest of our components. And that leads us to the towbar which is gonna be the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now also attached to the base plate is gonna be where our safety cables go and that's just gonna make sure in case of a disconnect we're still attached to our RV. We also have our diode wiring which is gonna transmit the light signals from the RV to the towed vehicle, including your running lights, brake lights and turn signals and that way people behind you know what you're doing. You also have your supplemental braking system and that way the vehicle slows and stops when you apply the brakes on the RV. more

Demco's Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental breaking system will apply the brake pedal when you hit the brakes in your motorhome. And they call it the duo because it works off of two different inputs. Here you can see the cylinder where when activated, it will pull your brake pedal towards the firewall. It is tethered to the firewall and the unit that is located under the hood is a pump that will actually pressurize the cylinder to activate it. more

Today on our 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Stay-IN-Play supplemental braking system with the wireless CoachLink monitor. But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure that the system's gonna work for you. Before we get too carried away talking about the braking system, why don't we kind of just cover some of the basics and refresh ourselves on the main parts that we're gonna need to flat tow our Jeep down the road in the first place. Hi there, Jeep owners. Today in your 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Air Force One supplemental braking system with the Coachlink wireless feedback. Demco's Coachlink will take your braking system to the next level by giving you a wireless receiver inside of your motorhome that's gonna give you real-time feedback of when the brake pedal is being applied from your braking system. With the traditional Demco-style braking systems, you do get a monitor light included that will go on the back side of your mirror on the dash so that way you can see it in your rear view camera. But depending on your motorhome, you might not have a camera at the top or where your camera's pointed for backing up, it just may not be suitable for where the monitor light's located, and maybe the monitor that you have just isn't the clearest monitor. So you may still have to be aimed right at it, just really can't tell that it's coming on. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today in your 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Air Force One supplemental braking system. So we're here in our motorhome and when we press the brakes here in our motorhome, you'll see the pedal inside the vehicle will apply as well. And it's going to match the amount of pressure that I apply here on the pedal. So if we hit the brakes here, air pressure is now sent to the back to apply the brakes on the vehicle. And also on the back side of the mirror, you'll see our light illuminate. more

And this is what our Blue Ox Patriot looks like when it's installed. We can see here that this unit will have to be placed on the floor every time that you go to flat tow. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental braking system here on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So, a supplemental braking system is just gonna be one of the many things that you need in order to successfully flat tow your Jeep. Now, it is a legal requirement in nearly every state. And what the braking system is going to do is it's gonna be applying the brakes in our vehicle with the braking in our motorhome. That way, it can help us come to a much more safe and effective stop. Now, depending on the size of your motorhome and the size of your vehicle here, it can actually have a considerable effect on the motorhome's brakes because they're gonna be pushing you, especially if you do a lot of driving in the mountains. more

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco stay-in-play supplemental braking system, on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is available in two different options. You can get the wired version, which gives you an LED indicator light that goes on the towed vehicle and that way you can tell when it's braking, but you can also pick it up with the wireless coach link. And that way you have a monitor system that you can mount on the dash of your RV, and be able to see it, and also hear it with its alarm when you're actually braking and your vehicle's braking. Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake proportional braking system for a flat tow setup on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The InvisiBrake gets its name from the fact that a lot of it can be hidden once it's installed, and that's accomplished by actually mounting the module box that creates that vacuum underneath the seat. And this should give you plenty of clearance to where it's not gonna cause any issues. It's then run to a cylinder, which runs to a cable and pulley system, which will slow and stop the vehicle when brakes are applied or when your breakaway switch is pulled. more

You're not gonna be wearing down the brakes in your motor home as much because we're actually gonna be using the brakes on our Jeep here when we come to a stop. It's gonna allow for much more safer and effective stopping. So in regards to requirements, pretty much every state nowadays requires a supplemental braking system to be used on a towed vehicle when it's over a certain weight. more
